Job responsibilities:

  • Provides an oversight role with respect to lifting operations at site level, provides self-verification and contractor oversight to identify and mitigate risk
  • Provides technical lifting advice and seeks necessary approvals and endorsement from Regional Lifting Engineer.
  • Ensures lifting tasks are planned, risk assessed executed in full compliance with BP procedures
  • Responsible for reviewing samples of routine supply base lift plans, authorizations, risk assessment, and facilitates endorsements of Category 3 lifts from the Region Lifting Engineer
  • Verify competency of BP personnel, and any direct contractor and sub-contractor personnel (who involved in lifting operations) compliant with BP procedures and ensure that a register of such personnel is maintained
  • Records site lifting performance and safety trends advising the Offshore Installation Manager and Regional Lifting Engineer
  • Identifies and communicates potential lifting hazards before they pose an unacceptable risk and raises the level of risk perception
  • Ensures all lifting operations are performed in a safe and controlled manner without harm to people or property

Skills and experience:

  • Lifting operations experience in an Oil & Gas or similar type environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant regulations (including LOLER) and general best practices relating to lifting operations and lifting equipment
  • Knowledge and track record with lifting operations and lifting equipment risk assessments
  • Good interpersonal and communications  skills (in Azeri and English)
  • BP Level 2 (minimum)
